LSTA & SIMIAN Training Pre-employment Training Scheme (PETS)

The LSTA are proud to announce that we will be delivering our City & Guilds Basic Traditional Leadwork Craft course in partnership with Simian Training as part of Simian’s Pre-Employment Training Scheme. This is a working trial and Throughout 2021, there will be scheduled PETS training in General Construction, Scaffolding, Roofing, Steel Fixing and Lead Work. The Pre-Employment Training Scheme (PETS) will be available for those who are living in any London borough, unemployed, looking to return to work or upskill.

The course involves a 5-day work placement with a London based building contractor to suit the course. The delegates will be working with contractors onsite, carrying out general labouring duties for 5 consecutive days, and by this stage they will have already gone through some accredited training as well as their CSCS card, which will make every candidate ‘site-ready’ and with PPE. The end goal being that every candidate has the possibility of gaining full time employment which will inevitably lead to further training.
